There is No Red or Blue
Only Us

Red or blue, we look to the government to save us.  
Red or blue, we look to laws to save us.
Red or blue, we look to leaders to save us.

But
Red or blue, the government cannot save us.
Red or blue, laws cannot save us.
Red or blue, leaders cannot save us.  

Only Love can save us.

Only seeing that the fears of our “enemies” are assuaged
And the needs of our “enemies” are met
Can save us.

In the words of Jan Phillips, we are the help we’ve been waiting for.

Leaders can inspire us (to good deeds or bad)
Laws can provide order (or a false sense of security)
Government can support us (or oppress us).
But only we, the people, can save us.
And only with Love.

Only we can create the world we want to live in
That world of liberty and justice for all
Where every person can be cared for, and safe
Where every person can express their God-given talents
Where every person can know friendship and love
Where every person who falls down will be helped up, dusted off, and encouraged forward.

We are the people of these United States.
We are the people of this great Earth.
We are the Help We Have Been Waiting For.
