The trees don’t plan or worry
They simply respond.
Moment by moment
Sap rising and falling
Leaves unfurling or dropping
Cambium expanding a little or a lot
(Slow growth or fast growth)
In response
Not reaction: response to changing conditions.

Might I do the same?
Deepening or extending
Expanding or letting go
Seeding or growing or laying dormant?
In response.
Not reaction: response to changing conditions.

Response to the Force of Nature
(which some name God)
Response to the ongoing creation of Life.
Evolution: constant change.
Adapt and adjust
Grow. Nea, thrive.
And in due course,
Surrender.
Become the nurse tree
Nurture new life in others.
And in due course
Return to dust.
Even the dust
Nurturing new growth.
